Das äußere Blechkleid ist fertig!

Ich hatte im Sommer nur wenig Zeit, am MGB zu arbeiten, daher erst heute ein paar Erfolgsmeldungen. Heute habe ich die Schweißarbeiten außenrum beendet! Die unteren Ecken der C-Säulen und der obere Abschluß der Kotflügel hatten noch so einiges an Rost und Glasfaserspachtel zu bieten. Unten noch mehr Fotos.

Nun muss ich "nur" noch die Radläufe innen in den hinteren Kotflügeln ausbessern bzw. tauschen, leider wurde dieser Bereich schon von außen gemacht so dass ich da schwer herankomme. Aber beim Austausch der Hinterachse werde ich das erledigen.

During summer, I could hardly find the time for my MGB project, but today I can post the news, that I finished the weldings at the outer body. The bottom corners of the c-posts and the upper rail of the rear wings presented quite a lot of rust and fibreglass-putty. Have a look at the photos below!

Now "only" the inner wheel arches inside of the rear wings are left for repair. Unfortunately, the outer section has been done already which means difficult access. I think i can do this best when I change the rear axle.

Auf dem Weg nach hinten waren noch so einige Ecken zu bearbeiten, die Scheibenrahmenecke vorne rechts und der untere Kotflügel rechts sind auf den Fotos zu sehen. Zusätzlich war an den Schwellern und A-Säulen einiges an den alten und etwas stümperhaften Schweißarbeiten auszubessern.

Und ich habe Türen, vordere Kotflügel, Hauben und einige Partien am Auto lackiert... und verstehe nun, dass man diesen Beruf 3 Jahre lernen muss. Der zweite Versuch war dann als Garagenlackierung für meine Bedürfnisse okay. Zuerst hatte ich einen zu kleinen Kompressor und erst mit zwei zusammengeschalteten Kompressoren konnte ich einigermaßen arbeiten.

On my welding track to the rear of the car I took care of several areas, you can see the bottom corner of the windscreen frame as well as the bottom panel of the right wing on the attached photos. Additionally, I had to revise some of the poor weldings at the sill and a-post.

And I started the paintjob with doors, front wings, bonnet and some parts of the body... and really understand that learning this job requires 3 years apprenticeship. The second attempt of this garage job was okay for me. One small compressor was far too weak and I combined two units which allowed quite good spray-coating.
